There's an exploit that allows you to duplicate any badge, it just takes some grinding to set up. I'm still doing science but I know spite pouch stacks with return postage. So if multiple return postages stack, you could do a challenge where you only counter direct attacks (and have a bunch of healing).

One obscure fact is that if you don't tattle the bald clefts in Ch. 1 in that one specific room, they never appear again. And thus is a one-time tattle. I even waited for the trashcan in Frankly's place, but nothing. I have every tattle but that Bald Cleft at this moment. Another thing is that I got softlocked in the Pits of trials around 75. I used Bombery's minibombs on a wizard and Dark Koopatrols, and the game got confused because when the bombs exploded it killed the wizard and the koopas were on their backs, but the attack never resolved. So I was stuck watching koopas on their backs for 10 mins. I tried waiting it out or if the audience would throw something, they never did. Sadly I restarted the pits of Trials and swore not to use the minibombs.

Quiz boo does NOT appear after chapter 4 he appears after you release all the boos. found this out because i found him while exploring creepy steeple before fighting doopliss for the first time

fp drain plus flower saver makes kiss thief free, which is great for grinding badges from enemies. Add hp drain for safety, if desired. I think these badges are underrated because of that.

might not be that obscure but here goes. In the original, the email after you complete Koopook's trouble incorrectly states that he's hiding in goomstar temple, when this is a mistranslation of crystal palace. the remake fixed it

One small change I noticed in the remake is that if a Hamma Bro’s hammer hits you while you’re walking around Rogueport Sewers, you take damage, even if you have Bump Attack and defense badges equipped, and strangely, getting hit with their hammers also doesn’t initiate a battle. I believe Magikoopa’s wand attacks work similarly. (Could’ve been the combination of badges I had equipped, but I don’t remember that being a thing in the original.)

Am…. Am I the only one who loved Hammer Throw in the original? It was literally my best defense against charged up Puffs, Atomic Boo, Kammy, etc…. I really preferred it over jumping quite a lot or if that was the only course of action (Aka ceiling enemies and Puffs charged with their elemental powers). But I digress.

I enjoyed this, thank you! Would love it if you put out a short video detailing your thoughts on the remake as a whole. Obviously obviously in some areas it surpasses the original, but, to me at least, there are some things I prefer about the original. Would love to hear where you fall on the spectrum!

Rawk Hawk's name in the European Spanish dub has been changed from Hawk Hogan to Halcomán, which is the one thing I'm most sad about with this remake. Bring back Hawk Hogan modding community.

15:56 i'm level 28 and saw a bowser statue five levels befor that. if you saw on whatever article that it ONLY can be seen at level 30 or above than it's wrong. maybe at lvl 30+ the chances just goes up but one thing for sure, lvl 30+ is NOT required to get this hazard in game.

Honestly, even if Mystery is a really bad item, it's still pretty fun in a casual playthrough. It's cool to be able to say "let's see what chance has in store for us!" and receive a random buff in battle

A fun challenge would be to beat the game or 100 trials with unsimplifyer and/or double pain badges I think you can get multiple of those badges too to make it insanely hard

Changing “END OF CHAPTER” to “CLEAR” hit me like a monster truck

One thing I saw mentioned by people on Twitter was that Boberie used to be the only one who wouldn't fall asleep to Luigi's stories for whatever reason in the Gamecube version, and people headcanon'd that into a character trait that makes sense cause he likes to listen to tales like that. They "fixed" it in the remake so now he falls asleep too.

In the remake, tattle was probably programed differently. Instead of printing hand-typed stats and description, the code probably just detects what enemy you're tattling and prints stats from it's prefab. So it would be print([Enemy.Name], [Enemy.MaxHP ], [Enemy.Attack], [Enemy.Defense], [Enemy.Description], meaning that it wouldn't actually be possible to have typos on the stats.

You can encounter boo in creepy steeple as soon as you release the boos from the box! The next available quiz is after chapter 4 is completed and so on.

Something I did by accident dunno how I did it was having a 0hp goombella doing a run of the pits of 100 she was still usable I just suck at the super guard timings (she died still cause I suck at super guards lol)

I absolutely love the quality of life changes the remake implemented. I had no idea about the Try Again option for 100 trials, but thats awesome. As someone that cant dedicate as much time to gaming as when I was kid playing the original, the small skips have been awesome

it's so funny to me that instead of making all the power bounce jumps harder, they just changed one of the jumps to frame perfect and called it a day.

They added a pipe in the first room of the palace of shadows that will bring you to the stairway room right before the shadow queen. It’s not really useful for much, but still interesting regardless.
